What is MG301 designed for?

MG301 is designed for automated meter reading applications. It enables head-end systems to communicate with field meters over cellular networks, retrieve meter data, and monitor meter operating parameters.

MG301 supports IEC 62056-21 Mode C, DLMS/COSEM, and Modbus RTU. Compatibility with individual meters depends on their communication interfaces and protocol implementations.

MG301 provides two isolated RS485 ports, four digital inputs, two digital outputs, and a USB Type-C port. Ethernet and latching relay outputs are available as options.

MG301 uses link monitoring, automatic reconnection, and hardware and software watchdog mechanisms to detect communication issues and recover from interruptions.
