What does the EC954 offer?
The EC954 is a multi-interface AI edge computer with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 @ 2.0 GHz CPU, Mali-G52 2EE GPU, and a built-in 1.0 TOPS NPU — expandable to up to 26 TOPS via an optional Hailo-8 M.2 module ( -H8 SKU suffix). Designed for industrial data acquisition, edge AI inference, and cloud-managed deployments. Rich I/O: 4× GbE, 8 serial ports (4× configurable RS-232/422/485 + 4× fixed RS-485), 2× CAN 2.0A/B (CAN2 FD-capable), 4× DI + 4× DO, GNSS, Wi-Fi STA, BLE 5.0. OS options at ordering: IEOS (default) or Debian 11 ( -D suffix). Cellular SKUs: LTE Cat 4 (FQ38 NA, FQ58 EMEA, LQA8 China), 5G NR (NRQ1 China), or no-cellular (EN00). Power: DC 12–48 V; operating temperature −20 to +70 °C. Certifications per datasheet: CE, FCC, PTCRB, Verizon, AT&T.
How do I set up and access the EC954?
The EC954 is a Debian 11-based edge AI computer with 1× HDMI 2.0 + USB ports — three access methods are supported.
Direct (primary): Connect HDMI display + USB keyboard/mouse. Power on and log in with the System User credentials printed on the device nameplate. Use the Debian desktop directly.
Remote — SSH: Connect to a default Ethernet IP (ETH1 = 192.168.3.100 , ETH2 = 192.168.4.100 , ETH3 = 192.168.5.100 , ETH4 = 192.168.6.100 ) using an SSH client. SSH user is edge ; password is on the device nameplate.
Remote — IEOS web: Open https://192.168.4.100:9100 (HTTPS only, port 9100). Log in as username adm with the nameplate password.
Should I choose IEOS or Debian Linux on the EC954?
IEOS (default, no OS suffix) is InHand’s edge operating system. It bundles the web GUI, cellular dialing, VPN, firewall, container management, and DeviceLive cloud integration as a pre-configured stack. Choose IEOS for fastest time-to-deploy and out-of-the-box integration with InHand’s cloud platform.
Debian Linux ( -D suffix) is a standard Debian distribution without InHand’s edge applications. Choose Debian for custom application stacks, third-party runtimes, or your own DevOps tooling — you take on cellular dialing and remote management yourself.
Can I add a Hailo AI accelerator to the EC954?
Yes. The EC954 has an M.2 B-Key 3042 slot for an optional Hailo-8 module (selected with the -H8 SKU suffix). With the Hailo-8 installed, the EC954’s AI compute extends to up to 26 TOPS — on top of the built-in 1.0 TOPS NPU. The module is pre-installed at the factory.
