What optional features can the IR315 be configured with?

The IR315 supports four optional hardware features, selected at the ordering stage:

  • Wi-Fi ( -WLAN suffix): 802.11b/g/n, 300 Mbps, AP and STA modes
  • Serial ( -S suffix): 1× RS232 + 1× RS485 — mutually exclusive with I/O
  • I/O (default, no suffix): 4× configurable digital input/output
  • GNSS ( -G suffix): GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS with ±2.5 m accuracy

Part number template: IR315--<WLAN/NA>-<S/NA>[-G] . Confirm the configuration matches your application before ordering.

Install the antennas (cellular, Wi-Fi, GNSS as applicable), insert the SIM card with the device powered off, and connect the power adapter. Once the device boots, connect a computer via Ethernet to a LAN port. Set the adapter to DHCP or a 192.168.2.x static IP. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.2.1 . Log in with the credentials printed on the device label.

With the device powered off, insert the SIM card. Power on — the IR315 auto-detects the carrier and applies the matching APN in most cases, so no manual setup is needed. If the cellular link does not come up, log in, go to Network > Cellular, configure the APN per your carrier’s requirements, and click Apply. Verify by checking the NET LED: steady green = network connected; flashing green = network connecting; off = network disconnected.

Ensure both the WAN uplink and cellular are configured and working. Go to Network > Link Backup. Set the Main Link to WAN and the Backup Link to Cellular. Choose Hot Backup (cellular stays on standby) or Cold Backup (cellular activates only after WAN fails). Set an ICMP Detection Server to determine WAN liveness. Click Apply.
