What is the IR602, and what problem is it designed to solve?

The IR602 is a lightweight 5G RedCap industrial router that combines 5G RedCap, 4G fallback, Wi-Fi 6, 2.5GbE, a second wired LAN, industrial GPIO, VPN, and DeviceLive cloud management in a compact metal enclosure. It targets large fleets of moderate-rate industrial endpoints that need remote operations and link redundancy.

The datasheet lists PLCs, AGVs, production lines, and video in smart manufacturing; FTU/RTU, distributed PV, oil fields, and pipelines in energy; surveillance, EV chargers, displays, and lighting in smart cities; transportation infrastructure; environmental and chemical safety monitoring; and temporary emergency communications.

RedCap addresses industrial devices that need more bandwidth than traditional low-power wide-area links but do not require full eMBB peak capability. The IR602 uses it for PLC, AGV, telemetry, supporting video, and distributed-site traffic, with 4G LTE fallback.

Availability depends on the target carrier enabling RedCap on the required bands and area. Confirm coverage, SIM plan, core-network support, and allowed service rate before rollout.

The IR602 uses a dual-core Cortex-A53 processor at 1.3 GHz, 512 MB DDR3 memory, and 128 MB SPI NAND Flash.
