What configurations and optional features are available on the IG902?
The IG902 is a high-performance edge gateway that supports Python applications and Docker containers on InHand’s custom embedded platform. Each unit ships with 1× RS-232 + 1× RS-485 serial as standard, in two base configurations:
- B (Basic) — 512 MB RAM, optional Wi-Fi, no built-in I/O
- H (High) — 1 GB RAM, dual-band Wi-Fi, 4× DI + 3× DO + relay output
Optional -D485 suffix replaces the RS-232 with a second RS-485 (2× RS-485 total). Part number template: IG902--. Cellular module options: LQA8 (China), FS39 (NA Cat 6), FQ58 (EMEA/APAC), FQ78 (AU/LatAm), FQ88 (Japan), FQ98 (South Korea), or EN00 (no cellular).
How do I set up and log in to the IG902 for the first time?
Install the antennas, insert the SIM card, and connect the power adapter. Connect a computer via Ethernet — the IG902 has port-specific default IPs: GE0/1 = 192.168.1.1 ; GE0/2 = 192.168.2.1 . Set your adapter to DHCP or a 192.168.2.x static IP. Open a browser and go to https://192.168.2.1 (accept the self-signed certificate). Log in with username adm and the password on the device nameplate.
How do I connect the IG902 to cellular and set the APN?
With the device powered off, insert the SIM card. Power on — the IG902 auto-detects the carrier and applies the matching APN in most cases, so no manual setup is needed. If the cellular link does not come up, log in, go to Network > Cellular, configure the APN per your carrier’s requirements, and click Apply. Verify by checking the MODEM LED and the 3 signal LEDs: MODEM steady on = dial successful (connected); MODEM flashing = dialing. Signal LEDs lit (1 / 1+2 / 1+2+3) indicate poor / moderate / good cellular signal.
What applications and runtimes can the IG902 run?
The IG902 supports Docker containers and Python runtime for custom application deployment, plus InHand Device Supervisor for industrial protocol data collection and device monitoring.
