How convenient EV ownership feels depends heavily on stable, easily accessible charging infrastructure. Underground parking garages, however, generally have no 4G LTE coverage. Chargers must be online to handle billing, app start/stop, and status reporting — once the network is unreachable, the charger cannot be used. Laying fiber in an underground space is difficult and costly. Charger operators need a reliable device that can open the data link between charging terminals and the charging-pile management platform at weak-signal points such as the garage entrance.

Solution
The ODU302 outdoor router combines 4G LTE cellular, dual Ethernet ports, and Wi-Fi in a native IP65 enclosure, suited to demanding spots like a parking-garage entrance.
Because the garage interior has no cellular signal, the ODU302 is deployed at the entrance to bridge the data path between charging terminals and the charging-pile management platform. LTE Cat 4 cellular with dual-SIM link failover automatically switches to the backup carrier when the primary link drops, holding off network-outage risk and keeping charging operations running.
For security, the ODU302 carries a built-in firewall, access control, and VPN, protecting both network access and business data in transit. Charging piles connect to the ODU302 over Ethernet and upload operating status and charging records to the charging-pile business management platform in real time over the cellular link.
On the O&M side, native Device Manager support lets operators upgrade firmware and troubleshoot remotely without visiting the site, saving manpower and travel costs and making it easy to manage large, distributed charging sites.
