InHand Networks Concludes Successful Participation at InnoTrans 2026

Berlin, Germany – September 25, 2026

InnoTrans 2026 has wrapped-up at Messe Berlin. InHand Networks exhibited its vehicle-grade edge hardware portfolio and the SafeRide in-cabin event-intelligence solution. The team held technical exchanges and business discussions with public-transport operators, system integrators and mobility industry professionals from Europe and other regions.

Against the digital transformation of public transport, on-board communication reliability, edge-AI processing capability and cabin-related safety functions have become key considerations for bus, coach and tram projects. At the booth, InHand showcased product hardware, solution diagrams and live demos to demonstrate product and solution capabilities.

Display of Vehicle-Grade Hardware Portfolio

The exhibited hardware includes VR624 5G vehicle router, VG910 next-generation 5G vehicle gateway, VG814 vehicle gateway and MDT600 mobile data terminal:

  • VR624: ITxPT-certified 5G vehicle router. It is equipped with M12 X-coded gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, multi-constellation GNSS and TPM 0 hardware security module, supporting passenger Wi-Fi access and vehicle service data backhaul.
  • VG900: Optional dual-5G module, L1+L5 dual-band GNSS with dead-reckoning, dual CAN-FD interfaces and discrete TPM 0. It supports multi-link bandwidth bonding for on-board mission-critical communication.
  • VG814 vehicle gateway: ITxPT-compliant gateway with 5G/LTE Cat 6, comprehensive vehicle-oriented I/O, CAN bus and Docker support, suitable for rolling-stock on-board deployment.
  • MDT600 mobile data terminal: Rugged on-board terminal with 6 TOPS NPU, 10.1-inch touch screen, multiple AHD camera inputs and 5G / Wi-Fi  It acts as the hardware carrier for the SafeRide solution.
  • OBC800: ITxPT VCG-ready on-board computer built for public transport and rail vehicles. It is powered by octa-core ARM Cortex processor equipped with a 6 TOPS built-in AI accelerator. It supports 5G NR Sub-6 / LTE Cat 6 cellular options, Wi-Fi 6 dual-band, dual-band L1+L5 multi-GNSS together with 6-axis IMU dead-reckoning for continuous positioning inside tunnels and depots.

Visitors focused on technical specifications such as ITxPT compliance, wide-temperature performance, vibration-shock resistance, cybersecurity and European cellular-band variants. Some guests asked for references of existing fleet deployments.

On-Board Connectivity & Computing for Intelligent Mobility

On-Board Connectivity & Computing for Intelligent Mobility is an integrated on-vehicle solution designed for buses and trams. It unifies vehicle networking, data collection and edge computing infrastructure to connect on-board devices and support intelligent mobility applications.

The solution consists of a set of InHand hardware including VR624, OBC800, ISE5000 and MDT600.

It can interconnect a wide range of on-board equipment: ticket validators, FMS gateways, APC passenger counters, destination signs, cameras and passenger information displays (PIDS). The whole system enables unified data access, device management and data transmission between vehicle end and cloud backoffice, supporting passenger Wi-Fi, vehicle status monitoring, passenger counting, video collection and other typical public transport functions.

Live Demo of SafeRide In-Cabin Event-Intelligence Solution

A live demonstration for the SafeRide in-cabin event-intelligence solution was available at the booth. Based on the MDT600 terminal, AI inference runs locally on-board instead of relying on cloud connectivity.

Supported functions cover passenger fall detection, dangerous-object recognition and restricted-zone intrusion alerts. Once events are detected, on-screen pop-ups and voice prompts will be triggered for drivers. Data processing is completed locally on-device, complying with GDPR-oriented data-processing requirements and keeping functional in tunnel or low-signal scenarios.

Representatives from public-transport operators reviewed the solution. They discussed application scenarios including city buses, tour coaches and school buses, and exchanged questions regarding system functions, alert logic and integration with existing on-board equipment.

Technical Exchanges and Business Engagement

During the exhibition, InHand’s team received batches of industry visitors. Discussions covered hardware parameters, solution deployment prerequisites, proof-of-concept procedures and available technical-support models.

From these conversations, the team observed practical market demand for ITxPTqualified hardware and localprocessing incabin AI solutions within European bus and rail projects. Several integrators and operators expressed interest in further evaluation.

Closing Remarks

Upon the close of InnoTrans 2026, InHand Networks collected multiple potential project leads and established new business contacts with European public-transport operators, system integrators and on-board equipment suppliers.

Exhibition feedback indicates that reliable on-board communication hardware and edge-AI cabin-safety solutions are among the focus points for digital upgrades of European bus and tram fleets. Moving forward, InHand will continue firmware iteration for vehicle-series products and improve local-region technical support, to cooperate with partners on proof-of-concept, pilot testing and project implementation.

InHand Networks will keep providing on-board communication, edge-computing hardware and corresponding vertical solutions for smart public-transport use-cases, and pursue further collaboration with European industry stakeholders.
