What optional features can the IG502 be configured with?

The IG502 ships with 1× RS-232 + 1× RS-485 serial as standard for industrial protocol acquisition (Modbus RTU and 80+ other protocols). Four optional modules selected at ordering:

  • -D485: replaces the RS-232 with a second RS-485 (2× RS-485 total)
  • -IO: 4× DI + 4× DO with 3000 VDC isolation
  • -W: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2
  • -G: GNSS positioning

Part number template: IG502-[-D485][-IO][-W][-G]. The slot selects the cellular module by region — LQA3 (China), FQ33 (NA), FF53 / FQ58 (EMEA/APAC), FQ78 (AU/LatAm), or EN00 (no cellular).

Install the cellular and Wi-Fi antennas, insert the SIM card, and connect the power adapter. Connect a computer via Ethernet — the IG502 has port-specific default IPs: WAN/LAN port = 192.168.1.1; LAN port = 192.168.2.1. Set your adapter to DHCP or a 192.168.2.x static IP. Open a browser and go to https://192.168.2.1 (accept the self-signed certificate). Log in with username adm and the password on the device nameplate.

With the device powered off, insert the SIM card. Power on — the IG502 auto-detects the carrier and applies the matching APN in most cases, so no manual setup is needed. If the cellular link does not come up, log in, go to Network > Cellular, configure the APN per your carrier’s requirements, and click Apply. Verify by checking the NET LED and the 3 signal LEDs: NET steady on = dial successful (connected); NET fast flash = dialing. Signal LEDs lit (1 / 1+2 / 1+2+3) indicate weak / moderate / good cellular signal.

On the IG502, VPN settings live under the Advanced menu — go to Advanced > VPN (not Network > VPN, as with IR-series routers). Select the VPN type (IPsec, OpenVPN, or GRE), configure the tunnel parameters per your VPN policy, and click Apply.
