What is the ISM5012D?
The ISM5012D is a Layer 2 managed 12-port industrial Gigabit Ethernet switch with 8× Gigabit copper + 4× 100/1000BaseX SFP uplinks. Fanless, IP40, DIN-rail mounted, redundant 18–60 V DC dual power input. 56 Gbps backplane, 8K MAC table. Operating temperature −40 °C to +85 °C. Certifications: CE, FCC, IEC 61850-3 for substation automation and industrial control environments.
How do I install and power the ISM5012D?
Mount on a 35 mm DIN rail in a substation cabinet or industrial control panel. Connect redundant 18–60 V DC dual power inputs. The IEC 61850-3 certification ensures EMI/EMC immunity to the high-noise environments of electrical substations. Use the 4× SFP ports for fiber uplink to backbone or remote substations.
How do I access the ISM5012D web interface?
Connect your PC directly to any copper port. Set your PC’s IP to 192.168.2.2 / 255.255.255.0. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.2.1 . Log in with the credentials on the device label. Both HTTP and HTTPS are enabled by default; SSH/Telnet CLI is also available.
Is the ISM5012D suitable for IEC 61850 substation automation?
Yes. The ISM5012D carries IEC 61850-3 certification, making it suitable for digital substation automation networks. Combined with the −40 °C to +85 °C operating range, fanless design, and redundant DC power inputs, it meets the environmental and EMI/EMC requirements of substation control rooms. Ring redundancy via ERPS / EAPS / MEAPS provides sub-50 ms failover for IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging.
