How do I install and power the ISM7312D?
- Mount to a 35 mm DIN rail using the integrated clip.
- Connect redundant 48–54 V DC dual power inputs — required for PoE delivery. Overload-current and reverse-polarity protection are built in.
- Install SFP modules (sold separately) into the 4× 1000BaseX SFP ports for fiber uplink.
- Connect powered devices (IP cameras, APs, VoIP phones) to the 8× PoE copper ports — PoE is negotiated per IEEE 802.3af/at automatically.
- Optional — connect a console cable to the management serial CLI port for initial setup. CLI and power cables are ordered separately.
How do I access the ISM7312D and configure PoE?
Connect a PC to any copper port and open a browser at the device’s management IP (per the nameplate). Log in with device-label credentials. Each of the 8 copper ports supplies up to 30 W per IEEE 802.3af/at. Other access paths: serial CLI, SSH2, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON.
How does the ISM7312D differ from the ISM7012D?
Both are 12-port managed Layer 2+ industrial switches with the same 4× SFP + 8× GbE port layout, 68 Gbps backplane, software feature set, dimensions, and operating temperature range. The differences are PoE and the corresponding power-input voltage:

Pick the ISM7312D when downstream PoE devices — IP cameras, Wi-Fi APs, VoIP phones — need to be powered from the switch. Pick the ISM7012D for non-PoE deployments where wide-voltage power input (18–60 V DC) is preferred.
