For jobs that demand fast performance, wireless and wired connectivity, sunlight readability, and the ruggedness to survive the harshest environments, InHand has developed its third generation tablet platform, the Hydra-Q6™ rugged tablet. Designed for military, medical, or other industrial or commercial uses, the fully rugged tablet offers the versatility and portability of a consumer tablet with the durability and long production life of a MIL-SPEC mobile device. The Hydra-Q6 meets wide-ranging specifications for temperature, fluid contaminates, solar radiation, fungus and immersion, while offering the full functionality expected from a compact mobile tablet. The tablet fits within standard military pouches.
The Hydra-Q6 features a 7” WSVGA (1024×600), full color sunlight-readable display with automatic brightness control and display rotation. A resistive multi-touch panel enables use with thick gloves and in wet environments, while its chemically strengthened glass substrate offers impact resistance. Two programmable buttons and a power button complete the user interface. External connectors (all IP-67 rated): RJ-45 (Ethernet), USB Type A, USB OTG, DC power input, and a rugged expansion connector. Tablet features include: camera, microphone, stereo speaker output, haptic feedback, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more. The low-power device features a 44 WHr Lithium Polymer battery and can run up to 8 hours on a full charge.
Operating system options include Android 7 and Linux. Contact InHand for additional options, including Windows or real time operating systems such as VxWorks.
The Hydra-Q6 is available as a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tablet or with InHand’s full range of design services to customize for application-specific needs. Options include alternative display sizes, camera resolutions, peripherals, docking solutions, operating systems, configuration lock-down, security features, and centralized asset tracking. Fully custom tablets may be private labeled with enclosures of alternate sizes, colors, shapes, buttons, external connections, materials, and design to meet product requirements.
