San Francisco, Calif., March 13, 2002 – InHand Electronics, Inc. today announced that its BatterySmart system software for handheld devices has been selected as a winner in the EDN 2001 Innovation of the Year Awards Competition. This exclusive awards program, sponsored by EDN Magazine, is dedicated to honoring truly outstanding engineering products in the electronics industry.
Winners were announced in several categories at a black-tie awards ceremony the evening of March 12, 2002 at the Pan Pacific Hotel in San Francisco. The winners were selected by the readers of EDN Magazine in an online election, from a group of finalists that were designated by a panel of EDN’s technical editors.
Products/technologies qualifying for a 2001 EDN Innovation award must have been introduced and commercially marketed from January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001. Sixteen major product/technology areas were eligible for consideration.
BatterySmart, InHand’s power management system software, was chosen in the Software Libraries category. InHand’s ultra-portable Fingertip handheld device platform was a finalist in the Computers, Boards, and Buses category.
