New AUDICOR ® 200 Based on the InHand Electronics Platform
About the AUDICOR ® 200… The AUDICOR 200 platform is a good example of the high performance at low-power consumption that is available through the engineering services of InHand Electronics. Powered by a lithium ion battery, the unit can run up to 50 reports, or print continuously for up to 5 hours on a single charge.
The unit connects wirelessly to a printer via an on-board Bluetooth module. With an environmental operating range of 32°F – 104°F, the unit is relatively durable, CSA certified, and IEC 601-1 compliant.
AUDICOR uses an InHand COTS platform, with low-power ARM processor and Microsoft’s Windows CE operating system and hosts on-board Bluetooth and GPS options. The single board computer also provides power consumption monitoring through InHand’s exclusive BatterySmart software to provide a low-power consumption solution for a wide range of products.
Inovise Medical, Inc., a privately held cardiac diagnostic company headquartered in Portland, OR, has developed innovative technology helping emergency medical service (EMS) providers deliver better cardiac care to their communities. AUDICOR® 200 is the first, easy-to-use, non-invasive diagnostic technology helping EMS professionals quickly and confidently identify heart failure and other acute cardiac conditions. Currently, 4.9 million Americans have heart failure and 550,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Eighty percent of heart failure patients who go to emergency rooms are admitted for inpatient care, many of which arrive via emergency vehicles. Studies show accurate diagnosis and appropriate therapy in the pre-hospital environment lead to decreased mortality. Acute coronary syndrome is another high-risk cardiac condition challenging EMS professionals. Early identification, definitive therapy and appropriate transport decisions result in improved patient outcomes. Although pre-hospital providers are often the first responders, and begin the initial assessment and treatment of cardiac patients, they have limited tools at their disposal.
Weighing less than a pound, AUDICOR 200 is the first portable diagnostic combining heart sounds and electrocardiogram technology for EMS professionals. Sensors containing miniaturized microphones record the heart’s electrical and mechanical functions simultaneously. Findings are displayed on the screen, and printed via blue-tooth technology to a printer. AUDICOR 200 integrates into existing protocols and helps improve overall efficiencies of paramedics.
