Inovise Medical Provides Technology for EMS Acute Cardiac Diagnosis
About the
|
Inovise Medical, Inc., a privately held cardiac diagnostic company
headquartered in Portland, OR, has developed innovative technology
helping emergency medical service (EMS) providers deliver better cardiac
care to their communities. AUDICOR® 200 is the first, easy-to-use,
non-invasive diagnostic technology helping EMS professionals quickly and
confidently identify heart failure and other acute cardiac conditions. Currently, 4.9 million Americans have heart failure and 550,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Eighty percent of heart failure patients who go to emergency rooms are admitted for inpatient care, many of which arrive via emergency vehicles. Studies show accurate diagnosis and appropriate therapy in the pre-hospital environment lead to decreased mortality. Acute coronary syndrome is another high-risk cardiac condition challenging EMS professionals. Early identification, definitive therapy and appropriate transport decisions result in improved patient outcomes. Although pre-hospital providers are often the first responders, and begin the initial assessment and treatment of cardiac patients, they have limited tools at their disposal. Weighing less than a pound, AUDICOR 200 is the first portable diagnostic
combining heart sounds and electrocardiogram technology for EMS
professionals. Sensors containing miniaturized microphones record the
heart’s electrical and mechanical functions simultaneously. Findings are
displayed on the screen, and printed via blue-tooth technology to a
printer. AUDICOR 200 integrates into existing protocols and helps
improve overall efficiencies of paramedics. |
