Mobile and embedded devices are powered by batteries and the power have to be correctly managed to improve the device autonomy and by the way the user experience. Windows Embedded is provided with a Power Manager that is interacted with the different drivers of the system to reduce power consumption when required.

The Windows Embedded have four power states: "On", "User Idle", "System Idle" and "Suspend".
